CrewConnect — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what CrewConnect collects, why we collect it, and the controls you have. We try to keep it short and human.

1. What we collect

2. What we DON'T collect

Background location. CrewConnect only reads your location while you're using the app and only when you opt in.
Contacts, photos other than the one you upload, calendar, microphone, health data, browsing history.
Any advertising identifier. CrewConnect does not show ads and does not track you across other apps.

3. How we use it

To run the service: sign you in, show your profile to other crew, surface nearby people during a layover, match you with crew on the same trip, deliver salutes, and act on abuse reports. We do not sell or rent your data.

4. Who sees your data

Other CrewConnect users — see whatever you make public via your profile visibility setting (Everyone / Only my airline / Only my connections / Only myself).
Supabase — our backend provider stores the database, files, and authentication for CrewConnect. See supabase.com/privacy.
Apple — handles in-app purchases and TestFlight delivery; we receive only a transaction id, not your billing details.

We never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing services.

5. Retention + deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes your profile, posts, comments, recommendations, salutes, layovers, presence rows, and avatar files within minutes. Anonymous, aggregated metrics (e.g. "X posts created last week") may be retained for analytics.

6. Your rights

You can:

View and edit your profile information at any time from Settings → Edit Profile.
Delete your account entirely from Settings → Delete Account.
Request a copy of your data by emailing [email protected].
Withdraw consent for location sharing at any time by toggling the eye icon off in "Who's Around" or denying location in iOS Settings.

7. Children

CrewConnect is intended for users aged 16 or older. If you believe a child has created an account, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Supabase. Photos and other files are stored in encrypted-at-rest object storage. No system is perfect — please report any concerns to [email protected].

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we'll notify you in-app or by email. The current version is always at crewconnect.app/privacy.
